I am aware that all those people up there where there's snow and cold right now are thoroughly sick of winter and can't wait for the warmer weather... but me, I live in Australia.
It's not the horrifyingly, swelteringly hot it has been on many occasions during this summer right now, but it is a happy sunny sort of warm. Which is nice, but still... I'm actually kind of looking forward to the cooler weather.
As much as they mean possibly getting a tan amongst sunburns, swimming and wearing much less clothing than usual, Australian summers also, for me, mean not wanting to leave the house because of the sun, not being able to get to sleep even without any blankets or sheets, feeling incredibly uncomfortable wearing far less clothing than usual, heat waves...
I like being able to wear scarves and stockings, leggings and boots and coats... I like winter fashion. Rugging up is fun, layering is awesome (until you have to go inside and take most of it off, but that's another story). I like lying in bed, cuddled into my blanket.
We don't get snow here, it's nowhere near as cold as it gets up in the northern hemisphere... but we still whine like crazy when the weather turns cold (especially back in high school when all we could wear were our silly uniforms). Despite that though, I like the cooler weather. It's nice and I won't be sad when the sun goes away this year.
